Hey, hello, it’s been a while. I’m back with an update on my List of 100 Dreams, and that update is that I finished it. Unsurprisingly, this list took me quite a while to finish, and even longer to finally post. I actually started this post back in March and never got around to publishing it because a lot of things have been keeping me busy! Adventures, heartbreak, panic attacks – it’s been a whirlwind few months, but things are finally settling down (or at least they are when I’m writing this, but I’m sure as soon as I hit ‘Publish’ my life will explode.) I thought this would be a good time to get back to writing new posts.
I originally considered only posting parts of my List of 100 Dreams, because I find some things on it embarrassing, but I’ve decided to share the full list. What’s the point of blogging about my disaster of a life if I’m going to hide parts of it? I don’t think you’re supposed to try to justify or explain your List items too much, because it’s meant to be a tool that helps with productivity and focusing your attention on priorities, but I’ve included a few notes or updates where I wanted to because it’s my blog and I can do what I want.
The final version of my List of 100 Dreams is arranged in blocks of things that I thought were similar, so if you notice that there are a few things in a row that relate or overlap, that’s why. I definitely didn’t write out my list in any sort of cohesive order, and it took me a while to get to 100. Happy New Year! It’s been approximately forever since I published a blog post (although I have a few half-finished draft posts written up…) and I figure the New Year is as good a time as any to buckle down and focus on writing more regularly. As you may have guessed from my last post, things haven’t been 100% great over the last few months, and while I was trying to figure out what to do with myself I kind of got overwhelmed.
A recent example of how much I let my life and goals slip away in the second half of last year is the fact that I spent the last 5 days of 2017 reading 7 books. Why? Because at the beginning of 2017 I set a goal (publicly, on Goodreads) to read 30 books in 2017. I was reading around 1 book a week at the time, and 30 seemed like a safe goal to set. Then “life happened” and I spent too much time doing nothing, and not enough time reading (or doing anything else.) I had a bit of a reading upswing in October/November, and was almost back on track with my goal when life happened (again.) Then the last week of 2017 rolled around, and I realized I was still 7 books away from reading 30 books in the year. Read More
I have to start by saying that I am so glad Embiria has arrived to provide awesome experiences in Toronto! Saturday’s SWEAT experience at barre3 was really great, and I’m already looking forward to seeing what experiences Embiria has planned for this summer.
SWEAT: The barre3 Class
Our instructor Jen introduced herself to each person who arrived, and explained a little bit about what to expect from the class. As soon as the class started, I knew it was going to be even harder than I imagined.
barre3 classes are a mixture of barre, pilates and yoga. I have zero experience with all 3 of these things, but I was never left standing around wondering how to do anything properly. Jen was great about calling out reminders to ensure our form was good, which was really helpful. At the gym on my own, I’m always wondering whether my form is correct.
